The idea

Back From My Trip is a community of travellers helping each other. You come back from a trip, you write how it really went — and your experience helps the next person plan theirs. When you are the one planning, someone who was already there helps you. That is the whole idea.

So no listings, no guides — one person, one trip, told with context: who they travelled with, when, for how long, on what budget.

Every report ends with the same question: would I go back?

And every report has a discussion thread, like a forum — but here every discussion is attached to a real trip, with dates, photos and a verdict.

And if no report answers your question yet, ask it — travellers who have actually been there are notified and answer from their own trip.

What makes this different

• Proof. Anyone can write an opinion anywhere on the internet. Here, a “Trip verified” badge means real proof — a photo taken at the destination, a booking or restaurant bill from the trip, or tracked location history from an imported trip. We check it, then we delete it. A review site cannot tell you that. A forum cannot either.
• Every report has the same shape. Two things are always there: who went, and would they go back — because the same place is a different trip for a solo traveller and for a family with kids. Dates, budget and trip length appear when the traveller shares them. So you can compare two trips side by side, instead of reading a long forum thread to find one answer.
• Answers from people who were really there. Questions here work like a forum — the difference is who answers. We notify the travellers who published a report about that destination, so answers come from real trips you can read. And when an existing report already answers your question, we quote it word for word.

Following a destination

On any destination page, and at the end of every trip report, you can follow that destination. It means one thing: we email you when a traveller writes a new trip report about it. Nothing else — no feed, no digest of everything, no reminders.

Follow the places you're going to. When something new is written, you'll know. You can stop at any time from the same link or from your email preferences.

Journeys

A journey is several of your trip reports, one per destination, in the order you travelled: "Three months across China", eight reports. Each report stays a full report with its own verdict, photos and places; the journey is the binder.

When you write a report, you can make it part of a journey, or start one. After publishing, the page offers the next stop. Readers see the whole route on one page, in order, with each stop's own verdict — never a score for the journey. All journeys.
