Terms of Use
These terms apply to everyone who uses backfrommytrip.com. By creating an account or publishing content, you accept them. The site is published by StreetLens — see the Legal Notice.
The service
Back From My Trip is a place where travellers publish reports about trips they took themselves, and where readers can ask them questions. Reading is free and open to everyone. Publishing requires an account.
Your account
- You are responsible for what is published from your account.
- One account per person. Do not impersonate someone else.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
First-hand only
The core rule of the site: only write about trips you took yourself. Do not publish reports about places you have not been, reports written for someone else, paid promotion, or content copied from other sites.
Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of everything you publish — reports, photos, questions, answers, and comments. By publishing, you give StreetLens a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and share that content on the site, for as long as you keep it published. If you delete content, the licence for it ends.
Prohibited content
- Content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, or threatening.
- Spam, advertising, or affiliate links.
- Other people's personal data (names, addresses, contact details) without their consent.
- Fake reports, or reviews written in exchange for payment or favours.
Moderation
Content may be checked by automated tools and by human moderators. We may remove content that breaks these terms. Honest negative reviews are never removed for being negative — that is the point of the site.
Verification badges
A verification badge means we checked a document (like a booking confirmation) that matches the trip, then deleted the document. It does not mean we endorse the opinions in the report. Reports without a badge are not less welcome — they are simply not verified.
No warranty on content
Trip reports and answers are personal opinions and memories of individual travellers. Prices, opening hours, and conditions change. StreetLens does not guarantee the accuracy of user content, and is not responsible for decisions you make based on it.
Changes and applicable law
We may update these terms; the current version is always on this page. These terms are governed by French law. For how we handle personal data, see the Privacy Policy.
